MOPSpeak

another way we can talk and share with each other…

Today’s Focus on a Friend is…

Rondalyn!

Our beloved Children’s Pastor Rondalyn does double duty overseeing the MOPPETS program and mentoring for MOPS at the Family Room Table. She is in charge of one of the best children’s programs you can find. Remember to thank her (and MOPPET workers!) for you and your children, because your children often will not or cannot.

I remember interviewing Rondalyn for the MOPS newsletter a year or two ago, and Rondalyn said she loved books by Max Lucado. So I bought one of his books because I figured if Rondalyn liked his stuff… =) it’s gotta be a good read, and it was!

Rondalyn’s husband Dan leads a spiritual formation group at church and is known for heading up the Men’s Ski Trip as well. Their son Scott is now married and has recently moved to Texas. Their daughter Becky is very popular among the little children when she visits and helps out in the Early Childhood Department. When my daughter Sydney just started out in the Creeper Room, she only wanted Becky to hold her =)

I personally have enjoyed knowing Rondalyn as our mentor mom at our table (when I was a table leader) and love how she actively participates in our crafts and events (look at the jersey she is sporting for Jersey Day!) and thoroughly enjoy the stories she shares with us when ever we get a chance to talk. She has been such an encouragement to me through the years, as I am sure she is for many of you who know her=)

She is so helpful, like tapping my shoulder to let me know the speaker has arrived and little important details that may have been overlooked (must comes natural to her running ‘Little People’ Church!) And you will find her to have such a great sense of humour, as reading her “In The Office” can attest to –FYI – MOPS Fall ‘07 Issue #2

Thank you so much for your continued support for MOPS moms and our kids! We love all that you do! —SC

Focus on a Friend, or FoaF

Hi Moms!

What a spectacular day Tea & Testimony was! It’s so nice to hear about lives that are enriched by MOPS. It really renews our sense of purpose … and explains why we would  take such trouble to get ourselves and the kids to MOPS in the mornings.

BTW – I forgot to open my gift from the Leadership ladies so in case you are wondering, it was a cool Spa certificate! They know me so well =) So I’ll let you all know when I go so maybe you can join me! THANKS guys. I FEEL THE LOVE!

I am introducing ”Focus on a Friend” to this blog — a feature from my sister Nina’s blog (her friend Laura recommended it to her because she wanted to be featured, too cute)– and which I aptly coined ‘FoaF’

There are so many fantastic ladies at MOPS that I just would love all of us to get to know, so here it is. Anyone can post on a friend =) Just email your little ‘quip’ and photo to Nanette or myself — we’ll post it! So you may see FoaF every once in a while…It may be you!

Today’s Focus on a Friend is: Denise!!!

Denise & Sarah

Our dear friend Denise, who is also our Financial Chair and Discussion Group Team Leader –among many other things as she handles whatever needs taken care of in MOPS! has just blessed us yesterday with her sweet recap of our semester.

She’s given so much of herself… for our baby item exchange… handling the registrations….She has such a heart for each of us and it really shows. She is so perceptive to just what people need and she offers whatever she can, whenever she can. That is such a pure example of Christ’s love. Remember when Kathy O. was speaking on Journaling and asked for water… who came right away but Denise with a bottle of water, from her purse! (She says herself she’s like Mary Poppins) =)

When she found out I hadn’t had lunch with a girlfriend (without my kids) for as long as I could remember, she put it on the calendar and we had such a fun gab fest… and when she heard I hadn’t had a date night with my husband for quite some time… she insisted on taking our kids and Chris and I had such a nice break.

She has been such a great friend to me… She is one of the most positive, responsible, and humble women I know. I am continually blessed by her enthusiasm and cheerful energy!

Denise, as my sister would say,”You’ve just been ‘FoaF’ed!!

Love, Sarah
